Dear Festival Friends,

The Mandell Jewish Community Center and the Festival Committee welcome you to the twelfth annual Hartford Jewish Film Festival.

The Festival has grown in size and stature, and has helped to make the Mandell JCC a leading presenter of the arts in our community. This year’s Festival features films representing six countries and includes new award-winning movies, social events and post-film forums. We are proud that our festival is acclaimed as one of the foremost Jewish film festivals in North America because of the fine caliber of films offered and the unprecedented participation we receive from all of you in the greater Hartford area.

I am personally grateful for the friendship, support and hours of planning and preparation of our co-chairs Lisa Kingstone and Mark Trencher. Under their leadership, the committee has previewed nearly one hundred films in order to present you with a premier selection that is culturally relevant and meaningful. Coinciding with Israel’s 60th Anniversary, this year’s festival welcomes a number of outstanding Israeli films that can only be seen here.

The Mandell JCC is once again teaming up with Trinity College and the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art to offer the event of the season. This year, we debut our newest venue – Criterion Cinema in Blue Back Square.

All of us at the JCC appreciate your wonderful, generous support. We look forward to enlightening and entertaining you with fresh perspectives on the Jewish experience.

On with the show!
